Lewis and Clark's Historic Route from Clarkston - Pasco, Washington

1. On October 10, 1805, the Expedition entered what is now the state of Washington. West of Clarkston, look for a heritage marker entitled "Lewis and Clark Enter Washington".

2. Alpowai Interpretive Center is within Chief Timothy State Park, about 8 miles west of Clarkston on US Route 12. Exhibits tell the Story of Lewis and Clark meeting with the Nez Perce Indians.

3. Drewyers River Heritage Marker is within Lyons Ferry State Park, It tells the story of the present Palouse River. Originally it was named Drewyers River by Lewis and Clark in honor of George Drouillard (Drewyer), a civilian member of the Expedition.

4. Lewis and Clark Trail Park is 5 miles west of Dayton on US Route 12. (The Forgotten Trail). An interpretive marker tells the story of the Expedition's journey through this forested site on the return to St. Louis.

5. Sacajawea Interpretive Center is in Sacajawea State Park at the confluence of the Snake and the Columbia rivers near Pasco.
