LOCATED IN THE COLUMBIA GORGE NATIONAL SCENIC AREA


40 miles east of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.
Bonneville Lock and Dam spans the Columbia River and links the two states.

 

Bradford Island Visitor Center

April 9, 1806 was the day the expedition camped on
Bradford Island on their return voyage.

" a number of these natives are moveing up to the Big Shoote ( Cascades of the Columbia River) to fish... we halted at a village at the foot of the 1st rapid,... we purchased 2 fat dogs and crossed over to the South Shore and Camped"
