Historic town boasts Montana's Lewis and Clark Memorial; a heroic - sized statue of the explorers, Sacagawea and her son is called "Explorers at the Marias"  ( 1976).

 The Bureau of Land Management visitor center features Lewis and Clark information as well as a slide show.  Take the walking tour of the four block levee which includes museums, ruins of the old fort and several historical buildings. 

Fort Benton is also the launch point for the 149 - mile "Wild & Scenic" stretch of the Missouri River.  Map (PDF)
