Missouri's first
legislators met in these buildings, until the new Capitol could be constructed in
Jefferson City, MO.
For five years, June 4, 1821 - October 1, 1826, these legislators undertook the task of
reorganizing Missouri's territorial government.
First Missouri
State Capitol
has been completely
restored,
after a ten year project.
Today,
you'll have the opportunity to tour eleven rooms in the Capitol complex that are restored
to their original state. Nine rooms are complete with furnishings from the
1821- 1826 period.
